Pragmatic or Social Language: The ability to use language in a variety of situations. Examples include: conversation skills, social interactions with peers and others, appropriateness of language use.
Speech: There are several different types of speech disorders that we assess and treat. These include: Articulation disorders (incorrect production of sound like /s/), phonological disorders (substitutions of classes of sounds like /t/ for /k/–fronting), and motor-based speech disorders (Childhood Apraxia of Speech).
Alternative Communication: Some children need a different mode of communication. Some may need low-tech images while others maybe high-tech devices. We work to find the perfect fit for the child and then implement it with the family for ultimate success. For more information, please see our AAC tab.
Swallowing/Feeding: As Speech-Language Pathologists, we are also trained to work with feeding and swallowing as it relates to our pediatric client’s needs. For more information, please see our feeding tab.
